Dodig: My goal is to be in Top 50 again Zagreb Indoors
Along with Ivan Ljubicic and Marin Cilic, Ivan Dodig is one of the Croatian players who won singles title at the PBZ Zagreb Indoors. It happened in 2011, when he played great tennis and deserved the title. He will be back in action in Dom sportova hall this week again, only a few days after reaching the semifinals in doubles at the Australian Open with Brazilian Melo.
"I had some problems with jet lag, but it gets better and better each day. I hope I will have good start here again, same as I started well this season", Dodig said. "I always felt good here and played well. I played at least in the quarterfinals almost on a regular basis. It's a high-quality event again this year, but I hope I will be able to repeat what I did in 2011."
Speaking about semifinals in Melbourne he added:
"This was the opportunity and we have to be better in similar situations. we are one of five best teams in the world, but it seems that something is missing. Our goal this year is to win the Grand Slam title and I hope that we will make it."
Ivan's highest rankings in singles is 29. Can this be improved?
"I believe I belong to top 50 players. And I think it is something that can be done this year."
